Free one hour assessment · Simcoe & Grey County

One free hour in your business. This is what you keep.

I walk your floor and trace how the business actually runs: the website, the tools, the invoicing, the double entry. I fill in this checklist by hand and leave it with you. No invoice, no obligation.

The senior technology and growth partner, without the full-time hire.

What the hour is

An hour on your floor, not a sales call.

Most owners have never watched someone trace a lead, a job, and an invoice through their business end to end. That is the whole hour. It is the same assessment I would run as a CIO, sized for a main street business.

Plain tools, named plainly: website · QuickBooks · HubSpot · Google Workspace · Stripe · Shopify

How the free assessment works

Mid-hour, tracing the money.
  1. 01
I watch how the work actually moves.

How a new lead comes in, how a job gets scheduled, how an invoice gets paid. Watching beats asking.

  2. 02
I list every tool you pay for.

The full subscription inventory, what each app is for, and where two of them do the same job.

  3. 03
At minute 50, I tell you what I found.

Ranked by what it costs you in time, money, or missed work. If nothing is worth fixing yet, I say that.

  4. 04
You keep the page. That is the deal.

The filled-in checklist stays on your counter. No invoice, no obligation, nothing to cancel.

Chris Patten.

The questions on the clipboard are the same ones. Only the size of the business changes.

Who shows up

The person who fills in the clipboard.

I'm Chris Patten. I live in Simcoe County, and I have spent my career being the person a business hands the messy part to. Ex-CIO. Accounting and finance trained. Career project manager.

I have run this assessment at every scale: inside a company that grew from $1M to $69M while I was there, on a platform I built that processed more than $110M, and in my own company, which I built and sold in 2023.

Headway is a one-person technology and growth consultancy in Simcoe County, Ontario. I build websites that bring in work, connect systems like QuickBooks and CRMs, set up AI reception for missed calls, and act as a fractional CTO for small businesses across Simcoe and Grey County.

My commitment

What I promise about the hour.

I'll come to your business and spend the hour on your floor, not on a video call. I'll fill in the checklist by hand, in front of you, and leave the page on your counter when I go.

You keep everything I find. If the honest answer is that nothing is worth fixing yet, that is exactly what you will hear. No invoice, no obligation, and nothing to cancel.
